I'm not entirely technically minded, but from what I understand my S2 updated last week, so now it says it has android 4.1.2.

However, it now will not play the FM radio (using the original app that came with the phone) in the background - so I can't do anything else on the phone whilst listening to the radio. Prior to the update it would just play whilst I did other things on the phone. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks

EDIT: did a factory reset and the problem resolved itself.

I'm trying to logcat an application in my Samsung galaxy S2, Android 4.1.2. But I get an immense load of information so I believe I have to filter it some way.
In command prompt I write: adb logcat
And it starts to pump out loglines. But I just want to see the log from one app. I've found out that there is this command
adb logcat [<option>] ... [<filter-spec>] ...
but how am I supposed to use this. Or is this not the correct command?
Anyone?

Hi
I'm having a huge trouble with my Samsung Galaxy S II and it is related to the Wi-Fi
When I turn on my phone, it puts the Wi-Fi automatically on, pops up a message says "process system is not responding" and reboots.
When I go to the menu and try to put the Wi-Fi off, it simply doesn't respond and when I go to the Settings -> Wi-Fi Direct Settings it crashes and returns to the home screen, when I try to go to the settings again, it just crashes the phone.
It will continually Reboot the phone until I make a Force Restart.

Any ideas of what it might be? I rarelly install Apps so I don't think it is a virus (but it might be...)

Hi there,

I'm having a rare WiFi connection problem when trying to get connected to an specific wireless router. On this router other devices like smartphones, and laptops can establish connection w/out problem. The issue is specific on my cell.

The same cell gets connected to any other WiFi spot I try to connect.

What I have tried so far?

* Deleting that SSID, then adding it againg to the wifi networks
* Powering off the phone, and removing that battery for around 15 min (have read it sweeps dns cache)
* Wireless router already rebooted

I also tried to install some apps to locate the issue:

* Using "Fing" it helped to make some pings and traceroutes to some public sites (so is not a connectivity issue)
* Also tried "WiFi Fixer" didn't help @ all, actually it didn't find any problem

What apparently is happening is that URLs are not being resolved by the DNS servers (they are reachable already tried that) but not resolved. :-\

My phone specs:
Model: SGS2 International (GT-i9100)
Android: 4.0.4

Any ideas on how to solve this annoying issue ??? :'(

I did a search on this site and didn't find any answers so I'm hoping somebody can help me. I have a Galaxy s2 and recently I've noticed that the gallery app keeps opening in the background and draining my battery. I've had to force close it to get it to stop and that doesn't always work. I'm not going into the gallery at all on the days that this is happening but it's draining my battery regardless. Does anyone have a fix for this issue?

My advice is DON'T DO IT!!!!!

A couple of weeks ago i accepted a firmware update to Jellybean. I think i had Gingerbread before that and I regret it big time and I am very angry about it. I have rang Samsung and been to their service centre demanding to have it rolled back to Gingerbread and they said it can't be done because once you update to Jellybean it writes a piece of software on it that means you cannot roll it back to a previous software version.

The reasons i hate Jellybean are as follows:
1. Everything is now so much slower to respond. There is a lapse of a second or two before things open after you click on it.
2. How DUMB IS THIS? You now have to click on the ballon of the latest incoming message to get rid of the notification on your messages icon. Who is the ***** that thought that was a great idea?? Do a software update and now have to do an extra couple of clicks to do a basic thing like reading text message.
3. Doing a firmware update completely changes the personal layout you previously created. It is like having a new phone you have to get used to and learn all over again. I f-cken hate it. I lost a wallpaper i liked and can't find it again.
4. The Accuweather.com widget has changed in size (about twice the size) so i can't fit it on my home screen anymore and it used to show the min and max temp of the day and the current temp. Now you can't see the min and max temp of the current day, even when you click on the app to expand on the whole week.
5. Previous version had a Home button, not anymore!!

Firmware upgrades should come with a WARNING. They (Samsung) told me they give you these warnings in the Terms and Conditions. Well every app download comes with terms and conditions and it is something we are just conditioned to accept without reading them. I will strongly consider buying a different brand next time around.
