You guys know this. We all know about the high pitched sound when you both plug your Android phone into a speaker/car stereo AND a charging port. The sound from an app is still relatively listenable, but that sound in the background is sometimes passive or annoying. In the case of the car stereo, you hear the electric sound when the engine is revved. What gripes me is that Apple is able to prevent this sound from bleeding into the music, but not Android phones, and were fives years into this ecosystem.

I just got a Galaxy S4. I love it to death, however. As for this phone, and the Galaxy Nexus, and the Incredible 2, and the Droid X, that charging sound is always there. Who here found hacks, apps, or mods to figure out how to get rid of it?

iPhone 5 vs Galaxy S3 vs Nexus 4: Don’t Retire Them Yet

Three devices that were released last year are not ready for the scrap heap just yet. These are the Samsung Galaxy S3 which was revealed in June, the Apple iPhone 5 which came out in September and the LG Nexus 4 which was proudly announced by Google in November. All devices are superb, but which is the best of the bunch?

The LG Nexus 4 has the 1.5 GHz quad core processor, the Apple iPhone 5 comes with the dual core, which was clocked at 1.2 GHz and internationally the Samsung Galaxy S4 runs on the quad cores, but in the US it has dual core processors. The Apple iPhone 5 is slower out of the three, but faster than the iPhone 4S. The LG Nexus 4 offers 2GB of RAM, while the Samsung Galaxy S3 has quad cores, but only 1GB of RAM. This means that the LG Nexus 4 comes out on top.

The LG Nexus 4 has Jelly Bean 4.2 and this is Android in the pure form. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has Jelly Bean 4.1 after being updated and it also comes with Touchwiz. The Apple iPhone 5 is the odd out with the latest version of iOS 6.1.3 and this is the most streamlined of the operating systems and also the easiest one to learn. The LG Nexus 4 will get updated quicker that the Samsung Galaxy S3 and so it could be a choice along with the iPhone 5.

For storage you can choose between 8 GB or 16 GB with the LG Nexus 4. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is available with 16 GB or 32 GB and you can boost it to another 64 GB thanks to the SD card. The Apple iPhone 5 is available in 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB, but doesn’t have support for SD card. This makes the Samsung Galaxy S3 stand out as the winner.

You get a 4.7 inch display with the LG Nexus 4. It is a True HD IPS display, offering 318ppi and resolution of 1280 x 768. The Apple iPhone 5 has a 4 inch IPS display and this is retina. The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with the biggest display at 4.8 inches with 1280 x 720p resolution. While all of the screens are good, it is the IPS ones that offer the most realistic looks and which are better in sunlight. Super AMOLED can look too hyper-real. With the LG Nexus 4 having the larger IPS display, it wins.

With the LG Nexus 4 comes a battery of 2100mAh and it is possible to get around 15 hours use according to LG. The Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Apple iPhone 5 both offer around 10 hours talk time. AnandTech did real-world tests however and they put the Apple iPhone 5 in the lead, the Samsung Galaxy S3 next and the LG Nexus 4 was in last place.

If you need NFC on your device then you will have to choose between the LG Nexus 4 and Samsung Galaxy S3. For LTE it’s the Samsung Galaxy S3 or the Apple iPhone 5. Need both? You will have to get the Samsung Galaxy S3.

There is an 8 megapixels camera with all of the handsets. The LG Nexus records video at 1080p and has a front camera of 1.3 MP. The Samsung Galaxy S3 supports LED flash along with autofocus and offers a front camera of 1.9. The Apple iPhone 5 is known to have the best BSI sensor and it has a camera of 1.2 megapixels on the front. Photosphere comes with the LG Nexus 4, the Apple iPhone 5 camera is best in low light and the Samsung Galaxy S3 is better known for its ability of taking video and photos together. We put the Apple iPhone 5 and its BSI sensor in top place.

The Apple iPhone 5 is the winner when it comes to design, camera and the ease of use.

For us the winner has to be the Samsung Galaxy S3 thanks to large amounts of storage and SD card, the large screen, front camera and its connectivity options. These include Smart Share, micro HDMI, DLNA, MHL, NFC and LTE. The price of the handset is dropping thanks to the release of the Samsung Galaxy S4, which means it is an even better buy.

Google Nexus 5 Shows Up On AnTuTu With Mysterious Name & Android 5.0

We have seen a new benchmark over at AnTuTu that could be the upcoming Google X Phone. This is a handset that has sparked rumours for some time due...

We have seen a new benchmark over at AnTuTu that could be the upcoming Google X Phone. This is a handset that has sparked rumours for some time due to the fact that is runs pure Android.

Of course the benchmark could be a fake one, but the Google X Phone has been rumoured for some time now. It may be the Motorola Google Nexus 5 or it could be another brand name. What we cannot remember is there being a device that wasn’t officially announced being on benchmarks for so long before the release. So this could mean that it may be revealed at the I/O.

So for now we will treat this as though it is the real deal. We did notice that the handset was running Key Lime Pie and that the name is said to be the Google X.
There were rumours going around that the handset could have the name of the Google X Phone or the Motorola X Phone. On the other hand it may be the Google Nexus X, thanks to Google having dropped the used of numbering. The handset should be making its way out in 2013 and Nexus fans are getting excited.

When you compare the scores of the benchmark to the Samsung Galaxy S3 they don’t come near it. However the Samsung Galaxy S4 has been taken to a completely new level and so we hope that the device on the benchmark is not too long in coming out. Otherwise it could look outdated.

The Google X in the screenshot runs Android 5.0. While this hasn’t been revealed yet people are expecting it to come out at the I/O and it may have the name of Key Lime Pie.

If you are waiting for the Google phone you should not let the benchmarks put you off. The device could be very powerful in the mid-range handsets. Motorola did say that they don’t plan to offer devices with specs that would impress, so this would suggest that if they are the ones behind the Google Nexus 5 benchmark tests wouldn’t be huge.

Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, Nexus 5, Motorola X Phone Are All Going to Miss Google I/O in May 2013?

The new Android OS version 5.0 or Key Lime Pie is expected to appear in the upcoming Google I/O in May, but something might delay this appearance by...

The new Android OS version 5.0 or Key Lime Pie is expected to appear in the upcoming Google I/O in May, but something might delay this appearance by two or four months. Another news revolves around the absence of both Nexus 5 and Motorola X Phone in the same event. Are these all true?

Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie
Rumour surfaced claiming that Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is going to be delayed by two or four months and will not appear in the upcoming Google I/O 2013. Fortunately these are all untrue, and no one should believe the speculations.

Delays on software are not impossible like with Apple having issue of delayed release for iOS 7. Gadgetronica reported from their sources about Android 5.0 delay, and it is not because of software problems but to give enough time for manufacturers to update their devices to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean first.
No matter how many devices are updated, there are some which will be left behind in the end, and the Jelly Bean update does have to stop because of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, in fact, it should boost their speed on doing upgrades.

Nexus 5 and Motorola X Phone Absence in Google I/O
Another speculation spreads that both Nexus 5 and Motorola X Phone will not appear in Google I/O this May. But why would these two expected devices sit on the bench as the event goes on?

Eric Schmidt and CEO Larry Page called the Motorola X Phone "phenomenal" and "unbreakable", respectively which made the public anxious about both smartphones.

So why delay them? Here are few possible reasons for Google to do that.

1. Motorola X Phone is still under development to create a so-called "future of all smartphones."

2. Google recently acquired Motorola and currently in transition phase.

3. Nexus 5 may be included to the upcoming Nexus line of devices, and Google might wanted it to be released in behalf of other new Nexuses.

4. Both companies are exercising their efforts on the two main points of today's smartphone weaknesses - durability and battery life

All of these are just rumours, but whether delayed or not, both Google and Motorola should be ready for new threats from upcoming strong players in the market - Samsung, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, among the many others.
