Please steer this to Sprint Galaxy Nexus

There are so many to choose from and I do not particular want to try them all. So please do not say there is no best ROM it all depends on what you are looking for in a ROM or something inappropriate like that. I do not even know why people always leave inappropriate remarks like that on FORUMS anyway.

I am just trying to install the latest and greatest ROM because I have been on

Eclipse-2.1-toroplus-build4.zip

Which I love but just seems a little old now and plus the Developer has moved on to Verizon only. I have been on this ROM for a long time and trust it; plus I have free WiFi Hot Spot plus LTE only option [Which is Amazing]!

So here are some ROMS which I am investigating…

[ROM][4.2.2 JDQ39 AOSP] Eos 4.0 – Toroplus
[AOSPA - 4.2.2] PARANOIDANDROID 3.56 (HALO7) [Toroplus] 22-MAY-2013
[ROM] [AOSP] MMuzzyROM for Toroplus - Jelly Bean 4.2.2 - JDQ39E
[ROM] BlackBean8 by TeamBaked 3-18
[ROM] JBSourcery 5.2-Toroplus ~4/21~ Nothing Compares
[ROM][MAY 4] rasbeanjelly [Android 4.2.2_r1.2 JDQ39E] [PRODUCT_DEVICE := toroplus]
[ROM][OFFICIAL] Cyanogenmod 9 RC1 (and nightly builds) for Sprint Galaxy Nexus
[WIP]MIUI.us Weekly Release-MIUIV4.1 for Toroplus-Sprint GNEX 2.10.26/Miui.us Toolbox

There are pretty much Sprint ROMS and I am wondering which one is the all around BEST and most used or popular.

What I am interested in a ROM is solid performance not too much BETA testing.
WiFI Hot Spot is a must
LTE only option is pretty much a must

Other than that I’m flexible; I know there are a lot more new options out there like the pie feature and what not; but I’m not sure which ROM has the BEST setup ATM.

So please give me back your insight on your ROM usage of all the ROM’s you have experienced that I can actually put on my Sprint Galaxy Nexus. Please do not go into detail on ROM’s that I cannot even use on my phone.

Sprint Galaxy Nexus Current ROM Eclipse-2.1-toroplus-build4.zip Looking for New ROM!

Best,

Note: Was I suppose to put this in the Hacking section? I think I got it right...

Rooting 4.1 and previous versions of Android was pretty straight forward, but 4.2 is a little different from what I've heard. I've got all the drivers installed, the SDK configured, and my bootloader unlocked. Can someone verify that the steps below are correct?

1) Enable USB debugging and put the SuperSU zip on the root directory of the SD card (Using this file) It needs to be on the root directory for 4.2, right?

2) Shut the phone off, put it in fastboot mode, and plug it in

3) Flash CWM (I'll be using 6.0.3.1, not the touch version) in fastboot

4) Flash SuperSU in CWM and reboot

I'm pretty sure that's all there is to it, but I'm not 100% sure. Thanks for reading :D

I am looking for a tutorial that explains the editing/building process of a ROM within an Ubuntu environment. I have successfully compiled 4.2.2 from source in 12.04. I would like to add to this ROM other features. I was curious if there is a native way about doing this other than using the ROM kitchen. I feel like I have googled for hours and still can't find that gem of a tutorial. Does anyone have suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Hello all,
started to have an issue with my charging system after I used a Eton 2000 mah portable backup battery. it randomly shows the phone is charging when not plugged in. Also today I tried to plug the phone to the pc with the same USB cable I have been using for some time now, it will not recognize the phone. I tried android commander and it did not find it. I checked and usb debugging is on and the phone says connected as media device.
I have had an issue in past when I had fast charge turned on I had no access to the phone when plugged into the PC.

any thoughts to check?

Thanks..

Brother has an LTE Nexus which he replaced with iphone 5 on Verizon.

I'm back in school and need a cheap cell and am wondering if it's possible to flash his Nexus to Straight Talk by changing msid, using donor phone etc..

I'm happy to read up and educate myself on how to accomplish this, however I'd like to know it's do-able first. Would also like to know if anyone has done this and if it worked out? I hear that Straight Talk can catch on and cut off the account.
NOTE: I use less than 1gb of data per month so data flagging shouldn't be an issue.

That said, I would also be grateful to be pointed to any guides on the subject.

Thanks - J

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread, but oh well.

So I thought I was ready for rooting, and it turns out that it is way over my head. A month back, I tried rooting my Galaxy Nexus, and I think I ruined it beyond repair. When I turn the phone on, the Google logo displays and it doesn't get any further into the booting process.

Since then, I found another on Craigslist, but I've been very hesitant about trying the rooting process again. Just thought I'd share my story, maybe someone can help me out next time I try.
