Ever since 4.1.2 update a few weeks ago my exchange account push email works sporadically or not at all. I've tried removing and readding the account to no avail. Also confirmed sync is enabled everywhere. If I do manual refresh all mails are downloaded normally. It used to work fine since I had the phone for about 6 months.

Any ideas? I've had to resort to using eval Touchdown for the moment.

Hi All!

I have google searched and spent a lot of time searching for people with my same issues. I have found some similar, but with different causes and solutions that did not work. If my phone would work, I'd love it--but these issues are getting annoying. They have been pretty consistent since I purchased my phone in January, 4 months ago.

First, TEXT MESSAGES. I often receive the same text message multiple times, 3 or 4 or 5 times. My wife sends me a text, and I respond. A minute later, "Oh another text!" Alas, it's just the same one...then again...and again.

Frequently, I just can't send text messages. I will hit send, and it will process for a minute before just failing to send. If I restart my phone, it then works 50% of the time. The other 50 I have to turn it off and leave it off for a couple minutes. This happens several times a week, and has for months, and has not occurred on any other sprint phones in the area, so this (and my previous issue) do NOT appear to be tower issues.

I use Handcent for messages.

Another issue, my ringtones will randomly reset to default on a couple contacts. I have about 30 unique ringtones for contacts, and this problem only happens on 2 of them, but their ringtone will frequently just reset to the default ringtone. I am getting tired of constantly changing it back to the unique one. Other members in that group are unaffected, and it resets not to the default ringtone for that group but the default ringtone for unassigned or unknown numbers (my general ringtone).

Also, voicemail does not work outside of actually calling it on my phone. Every time I try to use the app where I can listen to it, it crashes and says that "unfortunately, voicemail has stopped working."

Thank you for your help!

The other issues, unfortunately, are courtesy of the boneheads who think that "upgrading" a phone means removing services and actually downgrading the usability of the phone (i.e. removing the side zoom feature, and now removing the left to right swipe option to call contacts in the most recent "update").

ANSWERING PHONE.

As I've seen in another thread, my screen time is always at 50%,even though I haven't touched my phone on hours. Brightness is all the way to the left and on auto.

Whatever is causing the screen to think it's on is causing my battery to drain faster than I would like.

Any suggestions?

Noticed some battery drain yesterday and warm phone...battery confirmed with 60+ percent going to media server, media, or downloads. I screwed around with reboots, closing apps, not syncing in gallery,*and searching online for other ideas.

I found nothing short of deleting most media or resets. I don't like nuclear options.

What I did find was quickpic flashed something about no folders but it would load. I had two identical "downloads" folders. Same contents. One was "downloads" and the other was "Downloads" File properties showed the path as /mnt/sdcard in one file and the other folders twin file had a different path. I suspect this created some sort of loop in media scan.

I downloaded an image and then went in and deleted it via quickpic. This ended up forcing some sort of rebuild and the duplicate folder was gone :)

Battery returned to normal and no more media scan chewing up the battery.

I've had a Pandora one account for the past year. This month, it came up for renewal. I renewed on my phone with the intent of wanting to renew for a year. I didn't realize that I could only do month to month when renewing using my phone. I canceled the auto renew and then contacted Pandora and asked about getting a refund so that I didn't have to pay the annual renewal fee plus the month to month fee I already paid when I go to renew again in June. Pandora agreed to issue a refund and said that it was credited back to my Google play account. I'm wondering where in Google play I can verify that the refund was processed.

I had issues with the phone freezing on the lock screen when booting up the phone. Then when I pressed the power button the screen went black and unresponsive until it rebooted itself. This happened numerous times until it finally decided to behave.
It drove me crazy. Tried factory resetting without success. Until I deleted a PDF that I recently downloaded and that solved the issue! So if you have this problem think of files and documents that you downloaded before the problem started happening and that might very well solve this very annoying issue!

Just thought I'd share with the group, as I hadn't seen it reported anywhere else... I changed to Pattern lockscreen option just for yucks. Much to my surprise, the next time I went to unlock the phone while playing some tunes through Play Music, there was a "widget" on the lock screen. Shows the current song, with Prev, Play/Pause, and Next buttons. It's only there if you're playing music when the phone locks (it's not a perpetual widget), but hey I'll take it. While I had gotten accustomed to pulling down the Notif bar from the lockscreen and using those Play Music controls, I'm quite pleased with this discovery. Has anyone else found this to work with any other apps to get a lockscreen quasi-widget?

(PS - Not sure if it works with the other non-swipe lockscreen options, haven't tinkered any further)

From my home screen, when I swipe across the screen to the right, the first two screens have shortcuts for the applications I have installed. Somehow I managed to get duplicate shortcuts. It used to be that I could long press on a shortcut and drag it to the bottom of the screen where a trash can icon would appear. Now when I do this, it just moves the shortcut to the bottom row where the dialer and messaging icons are. In other words, the shortcut from the top of the screen switches places with the messaging icon (or the dialer) depending on where I drag the shortcut.
