SIM Card, working Overseas?

I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII, By US Cellular. I have been reading online, about this device being almost impossible to unlock to work with GSM networks within the United States.
Thing is I'm more interested, that it will work Overseas, Using a SIM card from a foreign country.
Will this be automatic? or I have to "unlock" it? Thanks, in advance : )

Phone will not boot-up

I went into factory reset and reset it and it still won't load. Tried using Odin and going to the original firmware and still nothing.

When in Download mode it says this at the top:

APN and MSL

Haven't been able to get answers to these questions about the US Cellular S3.

How can you access the APN menu?

How can you retrieve the MSL code from the phone?

Is a "Spare" Galaxy S3 Useful for Stuff (GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth) if Rooted & Without Cell Service?

Hey, I am a newbie and appreciate the help. I am a US Cellular customer and am going to have enough points to get a free Samsung Galaxy S3 next month; however, I am probably going to cancel my service immediately after that because I am going to get a subsidized phone though my employer.

Is it possible to use this phone for WiFi access, GPS, remote control/Bluetooth functionality? It would be nice if it were worth more than a brick. Not many companies advertise they are buying US Cellular equipment.

Have Us cellular gs3, need to switch provider

So I have a gs3 and live in Wisconsin, however, moving to Raleigh, NC and us cellular is almost no where there. So I'm guessing I'm stuck? Wife has a gs4 as well. Any suggestions?

Hello all,

I joined this site in the hopes that someone might be able to help me. I am DESPERATE here. I have a model SCH-R530U version 4.1.2. My dog passed away on March 1st and all of my pictures and a video of him were accidentally deleted from my Galaxy S3 gallery. A friend recommended I use the app called "Undelete". It requires the phone to be rooted. I have absolutely no idea how to root a phone; I hardly know what it even means. I'm hoping to find someone with knowledge in how this can be done. Are there other more simple ways of recovering deleted photos and video from the gallery?? I hope. I've spoken to both Us Cellular and Samsung and they said they could not help me in rooting the phone nor could they tell me how to recover deleted images and video.. I cannot give up and lose all of my precious images and video of my dog. I will be more than crushed. He died tragically and these photos are all I have left of him. Can someone please point me in the direction of how to root the phone and/or a confirmed effective way of recovering images and video from the phone's gallery? I've searched the internet and have seen many people say not to panic and that everything can absolutely be recovered. If ANYONE can help me I would be beyond grateful. Thank you so much. :'(
