Yeah, I know, it's Facebook. It's everywhere, and everyone has one ? except that isn't quite true. I know quite a few people who don't partake in Zuckerberg's social offerings, and I'm one of them. I deactivated my personal profile around eight months ago, and haven't really looked back. I've noticed many benefits to my 'social life' and personal interactions since, and very few downsides.

Seeing as how Facebook 'Home' is apparently the 'new face of Facebook' on mobile (terrible pun intended), here's my question to you all: do you have a Facebook profile? If not, did you previously have one, or have you never felt compelled enough to sign up?

I've never felt compelled to sign up as it really serves no purpose for me. I have no interest in sharing any of my information online and am not interested in others either. When I do wish to share anything with family or friends or see what they're up to, I either call them, send an e-mail or go visit them. :) My girlfriend however has a Facebook account, but only uses it occasionally in a voyeuristic way to see what others are up to and get amusement from their silly postings.

Overall, I find social networking annoying and too often feel like it feeds, many times creates, narcissistic tendencies in people. I think it also tends to isolate people and causes social interaction issues for many as it minimizes or prevents them from getting out and interacting directly with others.

I use it daily.. But I push it to the back burning all the time

I mostly use fb chat.. To talk to my gf and group chats.. But I text more. I actually talk on the phone more lol..

Facebook is becoming annoying with their ads and how I cannot filter my feed. I don't want my phone littered by crap.

Forums, to me, are my social networking.
I don't talk to people about what I'm eating, wearing, doing, giving away information without knowing..
No, forums I can talk to people I can relate to, and talk about technology.
Not, funny cat pictures.

I don't participate in any social networking sites. I enjoy my private and secluded life. :p

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I think Facebook is a terrible idea for a high school student such as myself. Colleges check your Facebook and anything you post can and will be used against you. 'friends' can tag you on inappropriate images which will get you in trouble later.

I really don't see the need to 'be connected' not trying to butter my own bun, but I am the most popular boy in my grade, and Facebook really isn't necessary. All of my friends have Xbox Live and i see them 40 hours a day, so I don't need any more time with them.

I would rather spend my time with homework, programming, browsing AC, or even blowing off time on Garry's Mod.

The newest trend of now now now, and people being stuck with what they post in the future is sometimes overlooked by today's youth or even adults.

The cons far out way the pros (if there are any) and I really don't care about what my friends are eating, or what my Grandma's cat is doing.

I use facebook a lot, but to have it one my phone i would rather go to the bakery and watch buns rise.
I do check it on my phone now and then, but not a lot - I hate being on FB on my phone, I prefer to use it on my laptop.
I Don't wish for my phone to be based around 1 app I hardly use. Yeah On my Dashclock widget i do have a fb tab, but thats it.
Finally I would prefer to see a wallpaper of my girlfriend rather then some cake faced girl in the mirror before she goes out due to my newsfeed... or at this rate my newsfeed has a lot of porn in it.... so I don't want that popping up when i am on my phone in public!

I use it. I just see it as a tool for communicating. I don't care for it as a gaming platform and I don't really involve myself in public feeds. I just friended people I actually know and go from there. If my friends all used something else, I'd move to that.

I never got into the whole 'Facebook gaming' trend. Didn't see the same attraction that I suppose others did.

I've noticed over the last year or so that I am on Facebook less and less. I don't usually post a lot things to it other than just random stupid thoughts that I see. I don't tell people where I'm going or what I'm doing and don't post pics of everywhere I go.
I do keep up with friends and family from school. I have moved about 2000 miles away from where I grew up and went to school and most of my family is even 3 -4 hours away. However, I usually just get on there on my phone for about 10-15 minutes a couple of times a day and see what is going on. I will check out the Facebook home but I doubt that I keep it. I like the stock android and don't see the need for a launcher like that.

My dad has a Facebook and uses it to constantly mock people. One time a colleague of his posted 'going to the movies!' he responded 'robbing your house!' this is why I love my dad :D

It seems any events/parties I'm invited to, the main/only source for it is on FB. No one calls me up or texts, they just send a FB invite. So without it I would miss out on a lot of that. I am not an active poster though, more of a lurker. I also use FB messenger as (almost) everyone is hooked up to it opposed to viber/WhatsApp etc. It's one place where I know I can send a msg to any and all of my friends.

I use my Facebook 2-3 times a week mostly to post a few jokes or something that I've done or seen that I think some of my friends will find interesting... Mostly on Twitter though for sports and what not.

I made a FB profile a couple of years ago (before Google+ existed) because there were a bunch of old friends, people I knew from school, previous jobs, etc. trying to get ahold of me and find out what I was doing. Several of them cajoled me until I finally created a profile. In those few years, I've probably spent less than 5 hours TOTAL time on FB.

I was actually at a Google Mapping conference when G+ was released and got an early invite, and I've been active on G+ every since. I find it FAR better than FB, and I'm Google-centric anyway.
