How do I stop a message from posting on Facebook?

Someone help please!

Sent a bad message to the wrong person on Facebook...
Quickly put on airplane mode to stop it from sending and has done so successfully but wtf do I do now haha like if it turn my wifi on it'll send anyway
How do I make the message fail to be sent?
It's happened before like I've gotten a notification that the message won't send etc. but it's not popping up...
I know once it gives me the error then I can delete the message and it won't be sent

Try turning off Mobile Data and Wifi so it can't go through.

I believe both the Facebook and Messenger app has something similar to a "work offline" feature that automatically holds your posts, messages and likes until you return online or to mobile data. I kind of dissected both apps this morning and short of uninstalling messenger I don't have a solution for you. That post offline stuff can sort of kick you in the pants.

That's not good then. Maybe your only chance is to clear data and uninstall both FB apps and hope it works. If not, well, and apology and an explanation will be needed
