My Android 2.2 phone plays videos for 15 minutes and then decides it can't play a video, how can I fix it?

It is the Captivate Samsung...I know it is a little ancient but I don't get how it can play the video for quite a while and then decide it can't...doesn't make sense.

Welcome to Android Central! Is this a streaming video from a website on the browser, or on an app like YouTube or Netflix? Or is it a video app playing a locally stored video?

To be honest, it's going to be difficult to troubleshoot this, since that phone is so old, and the Android version is so outdated. It's possible that the system just can't keep up with current updates to the various apps and Google Play Services.
