Need the best 'data usage' monitor for 4G Skyrocket

I rarely surf net on my phone and never check emails on it. Thus I only have 200mb/month plan. However, the phone is eating this up with updates and background operations. It's driving me crazy.

What's the best app to curtail the background activity, or limit it to WiFi only? I have been looking at Onavo but that app appears to be 3G only? Will a 3G data usage monitor work on 4G??

Download traffic monitor. It comes with a nice little widget and you can set it to reset every month and warn you when you are close to going over your limit.

I've been using 3G Watchdog for almost a month now. Seems to work pretty well. App updates don't reset the counters. Registers 3G, 4G and WiFi. There's no LTE in my area, so I can't confirm that compatibility.

I know traffic monitor works on LTE, but i'm pretty sure 3g watchdog supports LTE.

I second that. I use up a lot of cellular data and most of my time is spent on wifi.

Yeah, I settled on ONAVO.

I've been using the 200mb/month plan for 4 months now. Have not gone over yet. This is the first month I've been close. But I think ONAVO will help me get things back in line. Plus, I am gonna restrict as many apps as possible to WiFi access only.

My other option is to simply quit all data services. I really don't care. My cell phone is not my computer or my TV or my email, or much of anything, LOL...........

I'll never understand how/why people keep thinking that LTE uses MORE data. LTE takes LESS TIME to transfer the SAME AMOUNT OF DATA. If you're using more data with LTE than without, it's because your usage has changed - it's not an inherent consequence of using LTE.

My favorite quote regarding LTE:

4G loads data more quickly, not more data necessarily. My surfing/streaming habits haven't changed since I got a 4G phone, and so my data use per month also hasn't changed. It just takes less time for things to download.

I make no effort to limit my data use with the exception of using Wifi at home, and my monthly data use rarely tops 200MB. It's easily possible for someone to stay within 200MB per month if they're making an attempt to do so.
