I read somewhere on this forum that

1) In addition to the Android Market, there's an Amazon app store
2) You can buy an ad-free version of Angry Birds for Android at that market

Can anyone tell me how to find and use the Amazon Market?

And is it true about ad-free birds? The ads are really annoying, and in general I would prefer to pay for an ad-free version, and not see ads nor have my phone waste power talking to the internet to fetch ads.

Yes it is true. Just go to amazon.com from your phone's browser and search for Angry Birds. You will be prompted to download the Amazon App Store app.

Once the app in installed, launch it and go download Angry Birds.

btw...They have ad free versions of all 3 AB titles there.

And even the ad-free version wants to know your location and have access to your internet. Weird. So weird I didn't install it, even though I'd already paid for it. (They don't tell you the requirements until after you pay. #%@$)

I will try again with Seasons -- the ad supported version didn't ask for location info. But it says it's too big to install unless I have wifi, so at home, I guess.

Hmmm, they charged me for both, even though I didn't install the original and it wouldn't even let me download "seasons". Any idea if I can get a refund?

Yes,

I love the amazon app store. They give always some really good paid apps for free. I wish I would've found out about it sooner.
