I really want this game and I am willing to pay the $20 for it. However, can the save game go between two devices? My tablet and my cellphone. I would rather be able to pick up the game where I left off on my tablet when I switch to my phone. I prefer playing games on my tablet, but it is not always easy to bring my tablet with me.

Final Fantasy 7 on the PC allows you to do this. Not the original, but the slightly revamped version being sold for 12 dollars.
