Making pictures fill all of screen on Android devices

If I crop pictures to a suitable aspect ratio for landscape they will still not fill the screen in Gallery. With my Lenovo A5500 tablet, there is a black band at the bottom that is used for Home, Return icons etc. With my Samsung Galaxy phone there is a black band at the side that serves the same purpose. Is it possible to force Gallery to use the whole screen or, if not, is there an app that will do the job?

Check the Xposed module repository Welcome to the Xposed Module Repository! | Xposed Module Repository There may be something there that can give you a full screen. The only way to "force" an app itself to use full screen is to write the function into the app.
