Twitter for Android spam

about twice a day, a spam message is posted to my twitter account. i only use twitter from my phone, so it has to be from there. the message says "check this out! I made almost $500 today so far" then has a link. the amount changes every post. i've seen other people have the same post. does anyone know what might be causing it, and how i can make it stop?

Change the password for your Twitter and Gmail (or email accounts, whichever is tied to Twitter) and see if that ceases the problem.

Somebody got your password, switch it up and make sure your only use the legit twitter programs (plume, Twitter, etc).
