Browser question
Using: Motorola Droid X2 w/GB 2.3.3 and Rooted
Is there a way either the native browser or even Opera Mini browser can be configured when needed to not go to a mobile website? There are some instances where I want the standard website but I keep getting redirected automatically to the mobile-optimized site. If there is a way, I do not know how, so any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks. - 09-16-2011, 09:50 AM #2
Re: Browser question
This is programmed into the website itself. Which is why, even with any mobile device, some sites give you the mobile content, and others, usually older, give you normal dhtml type coding.
There is not a method I know of, from a stock mobile, that will allow you to, ie, emulate a version of IE for example.
Depending on the browser version, there may be an option to "stretch" the screen.

Re: Browser question
Every time I have been interested in using the desktop version of a website, at the very bottom of the web page, there has been a link for it. Usually says "desktop version." I know you are looking for a way to auto direct yourself to the non-mobile site, and, maybe you already know this. But, if not, at least it gets you to the regular site.

Re: Browser question
Credit where credit is due. I'm just happy there are thouse out there w/the answers - I don't need to take credit when I pass along the info - that would be most uncool.
