Hello, I started recording some general tutorial videos and posting them on youtube. I'm hoping you all like them, and I am open to some topics for tutorials. My goal is to not make it device specific. It's geared for noobs, but I think I'll have a little bit for everyone. I own a thunderbolt and will be using it for some on-device demonstrations.

Here are my videos:

How about a video about what happens when you flash a rom that isn't specifically for your device?

Or what happens when you don't follow instructions when rooting or flashing a custom recovery?

Joking :D

Would be nice though, to show people what happens when one doesn't follow instructions to the letter.

How about a video about installing the Android development kit, and drivers.?

The SDK was the first video I did.
Drivers... I'll work on showing them. Most devices (like my Thunderbolt) do not require drivers. Samsung devices do, however, I do not have my Epic anymore (not that I couldn't borrow one my my gf's family's old epics that they do not use anymore). Mac doesn't require any drivers, and neither does Linux (however, I can demonstrate how to allow the sdk to communicate to phone of different manufacturers). Technically, if you run the sdk as root, you don't need to do so.

If it is acceptable to you I may link to them from one or both of my websites and give you full credit of course. Android Academy 101 and Smartmobilellc.com.

Sent from my Thunderbolt.

I just posted a short article on both. I hope it helps you get more hits... cannot promise how many though.

I was slightly kidding... I've made $0.03 in ads in my youtube videos... These should get some hits though.
I'll have more videos up soon. Trying to figure out some kinks with a VM CyanogenMod build... once I have that working, I'll build and post a video on how to do it.

Wanted to give an update on the next videos coming out...
Its going to be a little bit. My plan is to come out with a video on how to compile a cyanogenmod release for a device/emulator. The kink in this are as follows:
1) I'm on my week to work. My schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off. I cranked out a lot of videos last week because I had the entire week off and was bored
2) Its going to take me several hours to make the video as I want to do it from scratch
3) Using official source code is impossible right now as git.android.kernel.org is still not back up despite kernel.org being back up. Following directions from both cyanogenmod and source.android.com will not currently work. I could use a mirror, but....
4) New source is coming out
5) I use Ubuntu and I am going to try it on 11:10 to see if it works... that is currently download on my machine at this very moment. If it doesn't work, I will show on 11:04 in a virtual machine
6) Having trouble with screen captured video and mic on ubuntu... I'll try to work on getting that fixed first.... otherwise I'll have to use my poor macbook which will take me absolutely forever to do the video on.

Its coming... I promise. In the meantime, read up on ICS news. :p

Well I was right :)
And as an added easter egg, the source code for gingerbread is back up and alive! I will be doing another video as soon as my poor macbook is caught up with my desktop. I updated it last and did a test build on my ubuntu machine in the latest video. If you want to try out Ice Cream Sandwich today, check out the latest video!
