Text Notication - phone says - "text message from"

Hi everyone
I'm new to the android world (coming from iOS). I've been playing aroudn and so far I can't decide which I like better. There are definately things that are much better on android but other not so much. I'm thinking its' just a matter of getting use to it.

Anyways, for some reason every time I receive a text my phone is saying "text message from" and then contacts name. How in the world do I get rid of this? It's gets pretty annoying.

OPen your messaging app, select Menu/Settings (or More depending on device) and check your Notification Settings. You probably have voice notification activated.

The only other place it might be, is in the general Phone settings. You may have a Profiles in your Settings menu which allows a more global configuration. So check the Notifications there also.
