Weird home screen problem
I'm currently running OS 2.3.4 and just recently I've noticed there's a spot on the top right of my home screen that when i move an icon to that area the icon disappears. I can arrange icon all around that spot and everything's fine, but when I try to put an icon in the spot it disappears. So now I have a blank spot on my home where i can't place an icon. Any clues what is causing this and how I can fix it?

Re: Weird home screen problem
Sounds like a software glitch. If rebooting the phone doesn't fix it... you may need to do a factory reset. Mybackup Pro in the android market will help with backing up the phone and restoring it.
How long have you had the phone? You have a one year manufacturers warranty for problems like that. Otherwise if you have insurance on the phone, that would be your other option if the above doesn't work.Thanked by: - 12-07-2011, 01:34 PM

I have the same issue with my Motorola Atrix. A reboot didn't help. Looks like a factory reset may be the next challenge!

Re: Weird home screen problem
There are a few spots on my DX2 where it doesn't like to put icons. Specifically the second row from the bottom (not the one that is static from screen to screen, but, the one right above that). I noticed that there is a specific spot that I have to hover over in order to get icons here. It's very particular, and, not in an intuitive spot. I also find that once it hits that spot and the spot highlights, indicating that I can put the icon there, if I move ever so slightly, the highlight disappears and I have even more trouble getting it to highlight than I did the first time. At this point, I drop the icon and try again. That's been my workaround.
I had this issue on Froyo and GB. Got better with GB, but, it's still an issue.
