Check out Youmail. It's a voice mail replacement service. Free. there's a app (free). It allows much of the same functionality of Google voice. But, is a great option for anyone who doesn't want GV - but, a lot of the bells and whistles it offer.

Google voice can be setup to work as visual voicemail. Its awesome. If you have a .edu email you can get an invite within 24 hours.

I'm also trying to figure this out too, seeing iPhone users be able to have a list of voicemails and being able to tap to access certain ones. I'm stuck calling into my voicemail, enter password, press 1 to hear all new msgs, etc.Current: Galaxy S4 (SGH-I337M)
