contact link issue

Hello,
I have Gingerbread on my HTC Inspire and most of my contacts are linked to Facebook. Whenever I receive a text message from a contact it will show the number of the contact instead of the name. Then when I open up that texting conversation it will still show the number instead of the contact. To get the name and contact picture to show up I have to tap the number, tap "open contact", then edit the contact so that "*Their Name* Facebook for HTC Sense" is selected. I have to do the same under the "link" section of the contact. This is very frustrating because I don't have numbers memorized and in order to see who texted me I have to repeat this process nearly every time. Has anybody else had this issue? If so how do I fix it??

This is a known issue with the Inspire Gingerbread update. There are tons of posts documenting it. There are some backdoor fixes (you can search for those) but nothing official.
