Google Voice for Texting
I have my Verizon plan block texting so I do not have to pay for it and I am exploring using Google Voice for texting.
I would be interested in comments from people about any downsides of uisng it (other than the obvious need for a second number). I been told that Google Voice may not work with every other texting app but do not know if that is true or just rumor. Also, I have read in some old posts that Google Voice does not handle MMS (which I assume is a multimedia text?) and so not know if this has changed.
Any please give me your comments.
PS: If it makes any difference I have Droid Bionic - 01-13-2012, 11:41 AM #2

Re: Google Voice for Texting
Thanks, I tried another free texting (either Textfree or TextPlus) when I also had Google Voice and one of them said they do not work with Google Voice. So I was wondering what other texting does not work with Google Voice.

Re: Google Voice for Texting
You must be sending using your Verizon phone number rather than the Google Voice number that you picked when you signed up for the service. Not sure how you are doing that but you can check by asking someone that you send to what phone number appears
