control phone with bluetooth headset

Is it possible to control an Android device with a bluetooth headset? I have a friend with a Windows phone who can listen to and reply to text messages as well as initiate calls through his bluetooth headset without touching the phone. It's very very cool, and I don't know that my Android has an answer to it. I would love to be able to do this on my Android and to use Evi through my bluetooth device. I have FlexT9 from Nuance, but it seems to require that I speak into the phone's microphone, as does Evi.

I have a rooted HTC Thunderbolt running das Bamf (don't remember the version) and a Plantronics Voyager Pro headset (same headset my friend with the Windows phone uses to control his phone).

Try Vlingo in the Market. It works through BT as well as the regular mic. and will read as well as create text, email, calls and whatnot.
