Not using Google on my phone
Bearing in mind I have a fully rooted phone with HTC Sense, how easy would it be to banish Google from my phone completely? I mean, I could use a different search engine and have a different email address. Do I need a Google account for anything else? Or would the phone just stop working without Google's involvement?
Just curious. - 02-26-2012, 04:05 PM #2

Re: Not using Google on my phone
Just out of curiosity... why do you want to take google off your phone?
Some say that his dormant chips were left that way for YOUR SAFETY... Others say that once "turned on," he can not be turned off... All we know is... He's called The Stig. - 02-26-2012, 04:28 PM #5

Yes, privacy for me too. I just read an article about all the data they are collecting. I am not sure if I am prepared to sacrifice Marketplace though. I am not sure how interested Google could be in my online activity, but there is a principle behind it. It just makes me feel uncomfortable.
