    Default Repurpose Ideas

I got a Pandigital Novel (white) that doesn't get used much (I got an iPad shortly after receiving it). I installed and played with various custom ROMs but no matter what, it's slow and almost barely usable.

Any ideas for repurposing a cheapo android eReader?

It's probably still good enough to use as a media device. Perhaps use it to stream music?

Maybe, though it was barely tolerable when running Pandora on the stock ROM.

Are there any custom Android ROMs out there that are designed to run a specific function, feature or app? Something stripped of everything but the bare essentials to do that one thing well similar to linux distributions like Asterisk (or whatever its called now), XBMCbuntu, DD-WRT, System RescueCD, etc.?

Maybe something that turns your low end tablet to a glorified RSS reader running as a screensaver (similar to that RSS screensaver built into Mac OS X)?

What was the issue with running Pandora? Was the music choppy? Other than a basic e-reader there's not much you can do with it if you don't like what it currently offers you for the day-to-day stuff.

Pandora would randomly stop playing. This wasn't related to Pandora's inactive feature (i.e., stop playing music after a while and ask if you're still listening).

I think its pretty obvious that eReader and digital picture frame are the typical purposes, but I'm hoping to find more creative and useful uses beyond those.
