How can I delete my Google account?
Hi. I've just purchased a new Galaxy Nexus (yay!) and my husband wants to take over my old Desire (Froyo, no other ROM installed). The Desire is rooted, but I had trouble with that process and had to have help, so I don't really want to reset the phone to its factory state. However, I can't delete my Google account to make my husband's the primary. This means that he has to remember to change accounts for each email he writes, among other inconveniences, and the phone is showing a triangle error icon in the notification bar because I canceled its access to my 2-step validation process, so it isn't happy about not being able to synchronize my account. Is there any way (other than resetting completely) to remove my account from the Desire? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Re: How can I delete my Google account?
You can factory reset from within the phone settings and clear all on-phone data, including the current Google account assigned to the device. This will give your husband a clear slate with the Desire once he assigns his Google Account to the device. Be sure to sync all your current data on the Desire before the factory reset.
Also, keep in mind that the Factory reset will not un-root the Desire. It will simply remove the data and apps. When the phone reboots you may need to re-download Super User from the Play Store, but that's not a big problem. - 04-29-2012, 02:27 PM
