Sprint Optimus S or HTC Hero for USB Tethering

I'm interested to know which phone you would choose based on it's internet processing capabilities, if you were to use one of the two devices for USB tethering.

Currently, I am using an HTC Hero on Sprint and running CM7 (if the ROM matters). I also have a spare Moment and Optimus S that I could use, so I am wondering if either of the other 2 devices hardware etc would actually process the 3G internet's communications faster than others/

Neither would process the data faster. But the Optimus S would be my choice given it supports more apps and is faster. I had the Hero for two years and loved the device. Though I think the Optimus would be better.
