Sleep of dead issue
Hello guys
About a month and a half ago I got a samsung galaxy note. It's been great so far, the only wrong thing with it is sometimes it doesn't wake up from sleep.
I have to long press the power button for about 10 seconds to restart the phone. I'ts really annoying not knowing if your phone is sleeping or completely off.
I've googled SOD problem but i still don't know if it's faulty hardware or software, should i return the phone or can this be fixed?
I'm running stock gingerbread 2.3.6
Thanks - 05-30-2012, 11:52 AM #2

Have you tried a factory reset?

Has this been happening since you got the phone? Did you try a factory reset? If so, and, it didn't work. I'd return it and get another.

UPDATE:
Sleep of death still happens after doing a full reset using stock rom.
I returned the phone to the store where i got it and they sent it back to samsung.
After 1 week, the phone's back and they told me they did a full reset (even though i had already done it) and "adjusted" the display.
So i took the phone with me and went home, only to realize now i cant hear anything or be heard during a call.
Inmediatly went back to the store and demanded for a replacement, after some arguing they agreed to replace the phone.
This is my second galaxy note, i just hope this one doesn't break. - 06-11-2012, 03:37 PM #12
Wow. What a nightmare. But, good for you for standing up for yourself. If it breaks again, you might wanna consider giving it one more shot, but, you may want to consider demanding a different model.

Re: Sleep of dead issue
I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this problem?
And, you definitely tested a factory reset without installing apps and still had this issue?
Might be time to consider a new model of phone as well. Or at least start looking.
