Google Calendar no alarms on Evo
Coming from the Palm pre and already had my calendar in the cloud but a little confused on why I am not getting them on my phone.
I have a reminder set for 1 hour, Maill.app notifies me but my phone never does. So i went into HTC calendar app, edit, add alarm, defaults to the 1 hours that I set. Then go to Google Calendar, where the 1 hour pop was already set, refresh the same, still there. The alarm then goes off fine on my phone.
So I then remove the alarm on the HTC calendar, refresh google calendar, pop up is gone. Add it via the browser, no alarm on phone.
I know that sounds really confusing but this is insane, why is it not working? - 06-14-2010, 04:52 PM #2

They work fine for me. Check your settings - In calendar, Menu->More->Settings->Reminder Settings.

email vs Popup alarm setting
I was having a problem where I would add events on my Google Calendar with an alarm for 10 minutes prior. I would then get an email with the alarm, but it did not alarm on my android phone - HTC Hero. When I changed my Google calendar alarm default from email to Popup (Calendar Settings --> Notificaitons), I now get an alarm/notification on my phone. And to take it back one step further, when I create an event on my Palm Desktop with an alarm and use Companion Link for Google to sync it, the alarm now comes through on my phone - with the Google Calendar default as Popup.

The built-in reminder capabilities of Android phones are not very good. Missed Call is a good reminder app. It reminds for missed calls, upcoming meetings, and sms. It sometimes continues to remind me even though the alarm was dismissed, but that's the only bug that I've found on my EVO.
There are versions for 1.x and 2.x OSs. Be sure you get the right version. Be sure you get the right version.Nepoint 1000 -> Kyocera 6035 -> Treo 600 -> Treo 650 -> HTC Mogul -> Treo 800 -> Treo Pro -> HTC Hero -> HTC Evo
