I have a Samsung Galaxy SII, and am curious, the video quality isn't bad on normal, but the more you zoom in, the blurrier it gets. Is this normal or is there some kind of "fix" for it?

I don't have my gs3 yet, but I'd guess it's just because of the digital zoom.

I assume there aren't phones out with any kind of optical zoom.

Evil Monkey is correct - Digital zoom is Faux Zoom, it's just zooming in on the original image and you lose resolution depending on the quality of the original image.

Well, I guess I can live with it. I'll just have to remember to take my real camera with me, if I'm anticipating any zooming. Thanks for the replies.

I guess the sound quality is much the same? It's not so hot either.

Yeah... A dedicated video camera will have an optical zoom and a directional mic.

While phones are good enough for a point and shoot camera, not sure they're ready to replace a decent video camera.
