forgive me for a pettty question, but I can't find where the clock weather widget on the s3 is. I lost it LOL

Can you tell me where to get it

ps, not worth a full thread. I am getting a dock would you go with the Samsung case compatible dual one OR the EZOPower one on Amazon which looks EXACTLY alike, minus the labeling

Thanks Again
Eric

Are your widgets in your app drawer but accessed by swiping to the side? Or do you long press the desktop and select Widgets. It should be in one of those two places. On my Prime they are in my app drawer.

Did you look up reviews for these? I would assume there are good reviews of them on Amazon. That is a good place to start.

I'm using Nova Launcher on my Prime and I don't have those issues. The Widgets are all in the App Drawer.

I would hope if I were a rookie they wouldn't give me an Advisor title. :p

Wait, you need the APK? You mean you uninstalled it? I thought you were saying you just removed the Widget from your desktop.

Here is a Thread at XDA that says you can't use it because it's part of Touchwiz. You might still be able to get it somehow, but, I'm not sure exactly how. You might need to do some Googleing or maybe try checking in the S3 forums. Maybe someone there has already done it.

Lol, no worries. :p

Well, if you didn't uninstall it then the APK isn't going to help.

It seems like with any custom launcher you can't access it, at least not easily. Have you considered using a 3rd party clock or weather widget? Might be easier.

Thank you

as far as apk's go I just thought that was another way of getting a program that wasn't in market any more , or was paid version

for instance, I have mlb at bat 2012 and the Sony Experia Blue something or another live wallpaper

I am not rooted

I guess I can hijack my own thread

since u have the Transformer Prime

Do you like it. I hear that is awesome and the new Transformer 700 ?? coming in a few weeks even better

I know there are threads after threads saying it depends on needs...but overall, if I wanna play a few games, watch some mlb replays and maybe a game, but a lot of facebook and internet in house at night especially if watching tv in bed, and I may take it to a friends or vacation once or twice a year

....would you go for the 7 or 10....or even the Tab 8.9?

If the 7, I think it is pretty clear, to me who likes pure google and a ton of others, Arguably the Nexus 7 is best

As far as the 10.1 it would be the Tab 2 10.1, Galaxy Note 10.1, Transformer Prime, and Transformer 700 (whatever the name is)

Can you give me your overall opinion of what you think most wouild like . And what they wouldn't i.e. portability, not able to thumb type. But the 7 is not much bigger than a 5" phone which I am close to having (4.8)

Thank You

Yes, an APK will let you manually install an app. You already have the app installed, but, it seems like the Widget is not compatible (at least not easily) outside of Touchwiz. That doesn't mean you can't find a workaround. See what you can find, or, try a third party app for the widgets you need.

My Prime is great. Loving it. It was rated the second best WiFi only 10ish inch Tablet by Consumer Reports, just read that today actually. Came in under the iPad by 1/100 points.

Don't know anything about the 700. Since I don't need a tablet or a phone at the moment, I haven't done much research on what's coming out.

The bigger the better in my opinion. I wish my Prime was a couple of inches bigger actually. The reason I'd strongly urge the Prime is because of the dock. Not sure if any other manufacturers are starting to come out with docks, but, the Prime's dock is incredible. I use it docked probably 95% of the time. When I bought my Prime in May, I looked into all the other Tablets, and, it was the best, IMO.

Also, the dock gives you almost double battery life, makes it super easy to type on, has a ton of hot keys to useful functions, a track pad, full sized USB, etc.

It is very portable and very lightweight. Once you have it in the dock, it still barely weighs anything and is very thin.

However, if I were buying a Tablet now, I'd probably look into the Note as well, as, I do like Samsung. And I'd have to look into whatever the newest Asus tablet was.

Thanks again. Ur full of ...uhhh...knowledge. that's what I meant to say. LOL

Anyway. I have to do much more research. The reviews dont mention the dock. At least not the charts I have looked at. So that must be the picture of whatever is holding it up. Does it include the keyboard as well

I believe I was told the note will mainly have some adobe functions and a stylus. Not much more

So u said, 'sew if I can find a workaround' ur funny too

What I say is what I know. I am a newb in spite of my posts and having had unarguably the best phone out the past 2 years. Dont get me wrong. A newbie to forum goers. Not to family friends etc

I wouldnt even know how to find a workaround.
If u could....does the word paypal mean anything.

I see u are a computer specialist. Something with IBM. NICE. I studied math and comp concentration. But wasted it in the restaurant industry

And u cook? Thai food? My fav

Thanks again

If u like to talk. I see this is friendly not sure if its against the rules. If so u can delete since ur an advisor and we can PM. MAYBE tomorrow

Eric

The dock is the keyboard, but, it doesn't come with the Prime. When I bought my Prime it was 500 and the dock was 150. Totally worth it though since it's a keyboard, extra battery, and all the good stuff I mentioned.

I'd still be interested in the Note tab, as, I was very interested in it as a phone.

That's okay, everyone is a newb at some point, and, everyone is always a newb to some part of anything at any given time. I've never rooted, and, I'm just waiting to cash in on my Verizon TEC, then I'll cancel it, then I'll root my X2. Until then, I've never rooted because I seem to have bad luck with phones. But, when I do, I'll be a newb. But, that's okay, AC will be here to help me with whatever I need.

Lol, help is free here my friend. You'll have to spend some time on Google, but, you might not find anything. I looked briefly last night, and, just now with no luck. I would suggest looking into some 3rd party widgets for now, and, periodically check Google to see if anyone has it working.

Yup, majored in comp sci, minored in math. I don't work for IBM, but, we use lots of IBM products. I have been working in database for 6.5 years now. Yea, I understand, I worked in restaurants for about 8 years from when I was 15 until 23. It's no fun. I don't regret the time I spent there, but, I would never go back.

Yes, cooking is a main hobby. I have cooked some Thai food. I make a mean coconut soup. :p

Nah, it's fine, it's your thread man, haha. You can post here if it's something that would be useful to AC, or, you can always feel free to PM.

Wow, that is some phone history. Haha.

Hope work was good. Can you look at this screenshot. and a post I posted somewhere else. Thanks. Eric (where is the thai soup)

I try not to be too anal, but the brown screen, particularly when in Lock screen with a black wallpaper, and when in some apps, like Astro, is getting to me

I am in my 14 day period, and my friend Macky, who is a pro like a lot of you, said, no that is not normal. Take it back

Do you agree with him on the screenshot attached

Thank You
Eric

Was kinda slow today, but, AC kept me busy. Haha.

I can't tell from the screenshot what is wrong. But, if you have a friend who said something is wrong with it and you should bring it back and exchange, then, maybe you should do so. Not sure how many days you have left, but, if you can explain to me what exactly is wrong I will try and help.

This isn't a smart question OR rhetorical, but when you click that picture, you can't see that, first, a wallpaper that is black, is brownish and then fading on the right . Real light

I guess I should have posted the original. I will

In the second picture you posted, I see all black. In the first picture, it looks sorta like mist in the background. And, yes, it does get brighter on the right side. Maybe you should go to a store and see another phone of your exact same model and test it to see if it does that. Alternatively, if you know someone else with the same phone, you could check it on theirs to see it. If the screen itself isn't fading when you are actually using it, then, it's probably not an issue. It might just be the way the lock screen functions, I really don't know.

As far as your widget goes, in the Go launcher you long-press the desktop and choose Widget, then install it from there.

I don't have their phone in front of me, but, from what I read on XDA, you can't use it because it's tied to Touchwiz. Whether that is true or not, I don't know, because I don't have their phone in front of me, but, I did read that in a couple of places.
