GoSMS message notifications

Hey,I just downloaded the go sms application and I keep getting notifications that I have two unread messages. I deleted all my messages and had my friend send me one text and it notified me saying that I had three messages. I have no idea where the other two are coming from. How do I get rid of them?

Can you do a screen shot? Are the notification for GOSMS of for the stock SMS?

Did you turn of the stock sms notifications?

Have you tried clearing out the Cache/Data for GO?

I am having the same problem I have tried everything. From uninstalling to reinstalling to deleting all folders pertaining to GO SMS and this one text keeps popping up when you try to open it it isn't there. Cleared data and cache nothing.

So frustrating.

If it happens after a fresh install, and multiple people are having the same problem, maybe it's a bug in the app. Have you tried contacting the developer?

I get these unwanted unread hidden sender messages. This also happens if you have handscent app. I looked in the settings and there is nothing that can remove the unwanted hidden sender messages.

I have tried to contact the developer hopefully I will get a response soon.

What is a hidden sender message? Does it just have the phone number blocked? Is it possible that these hidden messages are being prompted by some app that you have downloaded?

Cool, make sure to post back when you do. Also, is the app a pay app? If so, you have some leverage, if not, I wouldn't expect much.

I will when and if I hear back it is a free app though. There goes my leverage

Lol, yea, now you don't really have any way to push them. If it's free, you can't really complain (not that you are). But, letting them know about the issue is good. The more people that let them know about it, the more likely they will be to investigate/fix it.

I also emailed the developer regarding the issue. We will see if they will bother responding and fixing the issue.

I found a pretty long work around. Couldn't deal with the same message popping up everytime I opened GO. I uninstalled it and installed Handcent. Once handcent was installed that same message popped up again, but in here I was able to open the thread with that person in it. I deleted the threat, uninstalled handcent and reinstalled Go and it seems to have worked for now. Hope that helps some of you.

So once you used this app you never received those annoying messages or did you have to use it constantly to get rid of it?

dopestar.. It's only been 6 days since I installed, ran, & uninstalled... But, I haven't had any issues since.

If I do have the same problem again, I will install & run it again.

Take that for what it's worth.

The Go team is pretty good (and pretty active on XDA). They usually fix bugs pretty quickly. (No, I'm not one of them - all I use are the launcher and contact apps.)

Well, that's good to know. Maybe one of the people with the issue can go to XDA and try and get in touch with them, if they didn't get a response from them yet. Lol, nice disclaimer.

I had a similar problem with Go SMS. I turned off something in Go SMS that ended the messages they were sending about updates. That ended the hidden message problem. Sorry. It was so long ago, I can't remember any details.
