I'm still a noob when it comes to GSM phones, and i some friendly advice. I recently switched from Virgin Mobile to Family Mobile. Their selection if smartphones is....lacking. I was wondering can I use ANY unlocked GSM phone on their network, since I'd just be swapping the sim card to another phone? I got my eye on the Samsung Galaxy S2 or the Nokia Lumia windows phone. The service works great where I live but like I said, phone selection is limited.

From what I can see, Virgin runs on a CDMA network in the US (Sprint). Family Mobile runs on T-Mobile's network. There's no SIM card (for talk, anyway) in CDMA phones.

You can buy any T-Mobile compatible phone and a Family Mobile SIM and use them together.
