Default How to completely block Browser/Market access.

    Hello everyone!

Long story short, my son has a pornography problem. Him and I have both agreed that the best course of action, at the moment, is to block any kind of internet access to his phone as he tries to cope and deal with this addiction.

Problem is that he is very tech-saavy. Other locking-programs (such as App-Lock) he has been able to easily delete.

What is the best way to block access to Browser/Market? Is this a possibility without rooting the actual device?

    Thanks,
    John

how does he access internet in his phone? wifi or 3G?

if its wifi, secure the wifi with password or change the password and dont tell him the password.

if its 3G disconnect 3G by calling phone company.

setup open dns in your router and block all porn site by registering to website.

Yeah, disabling mobile data (at the carrier level) and preventing connection to wi-fi would be wise, but that wouldn't help if your neighbor has an open wi-fi network that he can just jump on (or go down to Starbucks).

In all honesty it's going to be hard to prevent him from getting to the internet. Taking away the phone and then buying a cheap temporary "calls and text only" phone might be a better option while you guys deal with it.

    Good luck.

He is a guy, porn is normal....however too much will give you blisters....anyway he is going top just need will power, porn is everywhere all the time...TV, magazines, movies, internet....on and on. They have internet at schools, library, wifi at the neighbors houses, go to the best buy sites and try to look up porn on the tablets on display, it's there too....power is the only sure solution.

Besides, just blocking him from technology will just make him fall behind in this day and age.which is worse than just wanting to see hot naked people.

There's also the psychology of people wanting something they can't/aren't supposed to have even more then if it's readily available. Some restrictions may be good, but i hope the OP is also looking at other options to help his son cope with the addiction in his own. You can't block him forever.

I think a psychologist would be a better solution to help him cope with his porn addiction more so than any restrictions on internet.
If you take something away it generally makes one wanting it more.

I think it also depends on how his addiction is acting out like is he paying for his porn or just looking at free websites?

No matter if he's truly addicted then he needs real help.
