international help. messaging question.

hello,

a friend of mine is going abroad, and has added the international data plan to there phone, which allows them to go on facebook, etc.

i am trying to find out, if i use the facebook messaging app on my phone if i will be able to communicate with them, or will i be charged. i do have an unlimited data plan, but i am not really sure how the international thing works, seeing as this isnt a text message i should be fine right?

or would i need to be on wifi to do this? any help would be awesome

If your friend is the one going abroad, I don't see why you would get charged using any sort of data from within your own country.
