Google Music Newbie in UK
Hi,
We just got G Music yesterday in the UK and wondered if someone can help:
When I upload my own music via the Music Manager, I see it on my phone - When I play the music from my phone, am I streaming the music or has it been transferred locally to the phone?
I want to stream music, don't want any local music on it
Thanks folks :)

As far as I know, Google Music is cloud based. So, you stream.
Re: Google Music Newbie in UK
In settings, there is a selection for on device music only. Streaming isn't that bad though, data wise, it's no worse than Pandora.
Re: Google Music Newbie in UK
Does that mean it downloads the music, or, that it allows you to use music on your phone through GM but not the cloud?

Re: Google Music Newbie in UK
The setting allows you to play music that is stored on the phone through the Play Music app without streaming from the cloud.
Music purchased in the Play Store can only be downloaded to a pc, where you can now load it onto your phone.
The best part of purchasing music through the Play Store, is that the purchased music does not count toward the 20,000 songs that Google allows you to put into the cloud without charge. The music sold is mp3 @ 336 compression.

its streaming from the cloud but there is also option to download the music to device called pinning.

Well, there you go damo. Just make sure you are set to only stream and you should be good.
