It could be possible that a custom ROM developer has made it possible to flash Android 4.0.x onto the device, but given the limits of the 600 mhz processor I would expect the overall experience to be probably much less quality than your getting with Gingerbread 2.3.4

Get the walmart plan its 45 bucks a month and u can bring your own phone like the s3 or the nexus4 and they will give you unlimited data phone and text. You may have to double check me on that but its a no contract plan and you'll have a good phone
