What are good places to buy brand-new Unlocked GSM phones from (USA)

the selection on newegg and amazon is crap unless you want a Galaxy S3/Note 2 or a cheap junk phone.

I don't know where to go for new unlocked GSM phones, I'm new to the whole GSM thing.

Well in US its very hard to get unlocked phone because carriers tirrany. You might have better luck with importing from europe. You also got Nexus 4 to choose

To date I have purchased about ten phones off ebay and have had great luck. All of them unlocked.

I am really careful to research the sellers feedback, how long they have been a member and buy only "new" or "like new".

No way to be sure of what you are getting, but so far I am ten out of ten. If you do this, just know what you want and know as much as you can about the seller.
