Difference between WVGA OLED and AMOLED?

Is there a difference? I'm debating if I should get the Fascinate from Verizon or the EVO. Apparently a buddy of mine's brother just bought a Vibrant from T Mobile (Same display as the Fascinate, both are Galaxys) and he says the AMOLED on it is insane. Is it THAT much better than the EVO's WVGA OLED screen, brightness and clarity-wise? Whats the difference between WVGA OLED and AMOLED displays?

The Evo has a TFT display, not an OLED display. The Evo's screen is alright, but it blows chunks next to the Super AMOLED display of the Vibrant/Fascinate/...
