    Hi all,

On my Sony Experia Arc (Android 2.3.4) I have firefox but there is also a default browser called just 'browser'.

Also when I am using the un-named browser, clicking play on a video launches this media player (control bar at the bottom of the video).

Can anyone please tell me the name of the browser and the media player?

    Thanks

"Browser" is the stock Android browser that comes with most phones. It's usually pretty decent, and can sync bookmarks with your desktop Google Chrome browser. However, other browsers can be faster and offer more features, like Firefox, Dolphin, and the actual Chrome browser for Android. You can always install 3rd party browsers on your phone, but you can't uninstall the stock Browser on Android 2.3.4 unless you're rooted.

The media player is presumably the stock player on your phone itself. The name of it varies--you can scan your list of apps in Settings/Apps/All to find it. It's probably called Media Player or Video Player.

@ B. Diddy thanks for your help. By the way I can't install Chrome - I guess because my Android = 2.3.4 = old. Anyway please see my related question here.

    Thanks...

Chrome requires Android 4.0 and up.
