Is there any way to remove the file association with PDFs and the Kindle app on any of my (JB) Android devices? I tried to "clear defaults" on the Kindle app, but apparently none are set.

I just want to download PDF files in order to save them to cloud services, not have them automatically open in any app, let alone the Kindle app.
