Safe selling on forums

With all the internet scams its hard to sell items unless its through a protected site like ebay or dealing in person through CL. Even paypal scams are rampit. My question, if i want to sell a phone on a forum does ebay have private selling? So i can post and email the buyer and only the ones i email can bid or buy now? I would think this would protect us. any ideas?

All you can do is be careful and know that if something does happen, you're pretty much on your own. That's why I just use Kijiji, or eBay or sites like that.

What's wrong with Ebay? If you are concerned about protection then go with the obvious safer choice, instead of looking for new avenues to make a transaction.

nothing wrong w/ ebay. but what if i just want to sell to only one person. is that an option? say you want to buy something from me. can i someway post so only you see it? so no one else can hit the buy it now...

Can't you just set up the buy it now oprion and not auction it....or is there a person you already have in mind to buy the item?
