Hi, first time poster here. I've been scouring the web for an answer to my question but haven't had any success.

I recently re-signed up with T-Mobile's $30 unlimited text/data/100 min talk plan. I use a google voice # for everything, so that's what everyone identifies me by. Integration for calling is fine; my question concerns texts. When I'm at my home, or in my area, everything is fine. I have data, so I can either use the GV app, or the new "Messaging + GV" app. All outgoing texts have my recognizable GV # id.

Here's my problem. I occasionally visit my parents where there is no T-Mobile data service - only the standard voice/text. As a result, unless I'm near wifi, I can't use the the GV app or M+GV app. I can still text but only with my T-mobile # as the id #. It's a huge pain as no one identifies me by that number.

So my question is: Is there any way to simply have my GV # number show up as the ID number for texts when I don't have wifi or data (but text through T-Mobile is still available)? I have unlimited texting, so I don't mind if it's going through T-Mobile; I'd just like the id # to be my GV #. I've looked everywhere and there doesn't seem to be a fix. Everything relies on a data connection. It's not a problem for calling. I can have my GV # show up as my id number to whom ever I'm calling - but the same does not translate for texts.
