Can you install Android Apps on your external MicroSD card? (Android noob here)

I'm a BlackBerry user who has an At&t LG Optimus G coming next week running Android 4.0. (Yes, that does mean I no NOTHING about using Android devices). It has 16 GB onboard internal memory along with a slot for a MicroSD card. The only problem is that I'm a heavy gamer and I like keeping tons of high end console quality games on my phone. Now these games usually weigh about 2GB each which is a lot for a 16GB device. So, could I install apps on my MicroSD card so that they don't use up space in my internal memory? Or is there any other way to store more apps that my phone would let me otherwise? Because I intend on keeping around 30-40GB of apps alone.
Thanks in advance!

Google took the ability to store apps on the sd card out of android in their honeycomb os and has not looked back since.

There are ways around this, but they all pretty much require you to root the device at a minimum to "unlock" it.

From there it is just a matter of which way to accomplish it. There are some roms floating around that could restore the ability of app2sd functionality, as well as some tweaks that will swap the sd card with internal storage so you can utilize up to 64gb sd cards on most devices.

I do not have the links, but others here do. Quick searches may find them or someone may come along and post them for you.

There is also another site, xdadevelopers.com, that may be of some assistance as well.

It's not wrong to fondle the s pen.
