Directory based music player?

Anyone know of a music player that, except for displaying the song title and artist, ignores the mp3 tags and instead uses the directory structure? The reason I ask is I listen to albums, not songs. A lot of my albums are by various artists (soundtracks, tributes, etc), and the built in player doesn't know what to do with them. All the various artists show up under the Artists list, which is The Wrong Thing To Do (tm). Worse, the album itself doesn't show up anywhere.

I keep my music in directories, Artist/Album/CD{123...}, with my compilations all under Various (Various/album name/CD{123...}. I much prefer searching my music in this format.

So, what's a good player for me?

Phone is an HTC V One.

MortPlayer has always been a good, free, no-nonsense player, well-supported by its dev.

I'm pretty sure PowerAmp, one of the most popular players on the market, can also sort via the folder hierarchy. It costs a few bucks, but everyone seems to feel that it's worth it.

Try also searching Google Play for "Folder Player," and you'll find a few more.

By the way, if you haven't used Google Play Music in a while, check it out again (but make sure it's updated to the most current version). It used to have problems wiith albums comprised of tracks from various artists, but some time in the last 1-2 yrs, they seem to have quietly fixed that problem. I currently have a number of albums with Various Artists as the Album Artist, and Google Play Music now lists the artist correctly as Various Artists. (Before they fixed it, it would stupidly list the artist from the last track of the album as the main artist for the whole album.)

I used google play music this afternoon. I loaded up a tribute to Alice Cooper last night, and this afternoon GPM showed all the artists, but I couldn't find the entire album. Kinda the straw that broke the camel's back, I'm tired of going through all sorts of contortions trying to get my music player to do what to me is fricken obvious.

Many thanks for the Mortplayer recommendation, it does just what I want. Even better, it solves another problem I had.

A couple weeks ago I transferred a bunch of work mp3s from my thumb drive to my phone, and tossed the thumb in the drawer. All those work files showed up in my playlist. About a hundred files from 2 sec to about 30 seconds long. I tried putting them in a directory who's name started with a ., as well as creating a .Nomedia file in the directory. Neither worked.

But Mortplayer lets me tell it where to look for my music. I keep all my music under My_Music, and work stuff under Work. Why I can't do something similar with tag based players is beyond me.

That said, the thumb drive will be seeing the light of day once again. Turns out it's easier to carry an extra device around and just plug it in, as opposed to "hey, got a USB cable? No, need a micro. No, the other micro. No? Dang, lemme run to my office....." I'm sure with all the radios in the phone I could figure out how to do it wirelessly, but carrying a thumb drive is easier.
