no downloads possible on galaxy grand

I cannot download any app from the play store, neither any file be it pdf, .doc , .ppt or anything. Though my internet speed is pretty fast and I've storage space in plenty plus my firmware is up to date! What could be the possible reason for having this problem?? Please help!
