Is bluetooth the only way to wirelessly stream all sound on my phone to an amp?

It dissapoints me that we, android users, don't have something as good as AirPlay to allow us to wirelessly stream high quality sound from our phones.

I am a subscriber of the Rdio music streaming service and I want to be able to play the music from my phone through my amp and speakers. It seems as though the only way to do this is to use bluetooth, which is a shame because the sound quality isn't that high.

Is there anything on the android horizon that'll give me what I need? Right now I'd be happy with an app that sent all sound from my phone via airplay, but the airplay apps that currently exist are a bit poo and only let you play certain music, such as the files already on your machine.

If I already have my own speaker setup, upstairs and downstairs, can I still use the Sonos system? What bits of the system would I need to buy? Will I need to buy 2 'Connect' devices for upstairs and downstairs?
