Hello, new member here. I have a boost mobile samsung transform ultra, and I have a couple of questions.
First, how in the hell do you remove boost zone and mobile id? They are annoying, I will never use them and mobile id runs in the BG Whenever it feels like, and my battery goes dead relatively quickly. Also, my wifi never worked since the day I bought my phone. No matter what network I try to connect to, the wifi stays stuck in a loop. It just says scanning, connected, disconnected over and over. The phone was purchased brand new out the box, less than 6 months ago. At one point I returned the phone and got a new one and same problem. At one time my wife had a samsung replenish that used to do the same thing, but strangely when she upgraded her phone and the boost

Cont. (I'm ready to smash this ******* phone against the wall) account was no longer on the phone the wifi works on that phone now with no problems. I am running gingerbread.ff27 kernel version 2.6.35.7, android version 2.3.6
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, you most likely can't remove Boost Zone or Mobile ID unless you root the phone. If your phone was Android 4.0 or above, you might have the option to disable those apps, but not with Gingerbread. I'm not familiar with those bloatware apps--do they have any settings that allow you to control their activity?

Regarding the wifi--what different networks have you tried to connect to? Have you tried places like Starbucks or Target? Sometimes, phones might not like certain router settings, so at home, you could try removing any security setting on your router as an experiment. If you can connect, then you know it has something to do with that.

Hello B.Diddy, thanks for the speedy reply :) As far as the mobile id goes, the only options under manage settings is force stop and clear data, nothing else. Wifi doesn't work at home or outside. I do not have security settings set on my router, so it should be no problems connecting.

Are you sure your phone is completely up to date in terms of system updates?

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Android Central Forums

Yeah, I checked for updates, none. I did however, update my phone when I first got it to the version os I am using now.

Have you tried a factory data reset? That is, completely wiping the phone and resetting to factory condition. I know that you said this problem occurred right out of the box, but who knows, maybe there was something in the final preparation before packaging that messed things up.

Good morning... I tried factory reset too...no dice. Also, how
can I
wipe boost zone and mobile id from my phone? Maybe if I root my
phone that might help. Thanks

I found this thread discussing wifi problems after the most recent system update:

https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=30721

I haven't been able to find a fix, though. You might want to look into rooting the phone and maybe flashing a ROM. This might fix the wifi problem, and you could also delete Boost Zone and Mobile ID.

Thanks, I will check the link... how do you delete mobile id and boost zone? Also, how would I go about rooting my phone?
