Cant use / find apps

Hi

Since getting the S4, i have downloaded a few apps from the Play Store, but cannot find them on the phone itself. I went to the help section and followed the instructions and sure enough, it lists the apps and states they are 'installed'. Yet when i go into the apps section on the phone, they are nowhere to be seen. Also, after i have downloaded each one, a Play Store icon appears at the top, can someone tell me what that is??

Did you scroll or swipe through the entire apps list? Also, were any of the apps widgets? Widgets won't show up in the Apps list--it would be under Widgets.

The icon at the top is a Notification that an app installed successfully. Swipe down from the top to see the full notifications.

Yea definatley all apps. Aye ive gone through the entire apps section, and even when i tap the icon at the top, it says there are no downloaded applications. Thanks. So they are definately installed, i just cant locate them?

I don't have an S4, so I don't know if there might be some modifications to the interface that I'm not familiar with. What happens if you reboot the phone, and then check the Apps list?

Hopefully you won't have to restart each time you install a new app. This kind of thing used to happen for widgets on my RAZR Maxx before we got the Jellybean update.
