Keyboard & Typing - Who types on their Vibrant with Confidence?
For those who have touch-screen keyboards only, who types on their Android phone with confidence? I'm afraid I don't.
I own a Tmobile Vibrant and I have to say, the response time is quite poor. I am forced to use the Samsung stock keyboard, seeing as Android stock and Better Keyboard both aren't as responsive (is it a lack of multi-touch?) as the Samsung one - yet the Samsung one isn't perfect either. It lags here and there, misses letters (despite clearly having hit the keys, as indicated by the enlarged highlighted letters), and has some bizarre auto-corrections. Also, the interface for symbols and numbers is terribly cumbersome - having to scroll through screens to get to certain characters, or not automatically returning to the ABC keyboard after hitting space bar from the symbol screens. While Android/Better Keyboard both have more intuitive interfaces, as mentioned, they perform worse in terms of response-time and typing accuracy.
Anyone else have keyboard/typing woes, or even better, advice to remedy these issues?
As for Swype, while I find it fun and often impressive, it does not type faster even after practice and use, and trying to punch in your own custom words is cumbersome. The lack of editing dictionary/custom words is a real drawback too (the process they provide to delete/add words isn't user-friendly nor reliable). Plus, depending on where you are and more specifically what temperature you're in, swiping across your screen (especially one with a screen protector) with a finger can be really slow.
