Recommendation for a Nice, Cheap Android to Practice Rooting

Hi All,

I am new to the forum, but check Android Central daily, most times several times a day...I know I have a problem . I am interested in learning more about rooting and trying it out, however, I don't wish to try it out on my primary device (Note 2), but want a practice device. I would like to know what is a nice, cheap android device that I can use to practice rooting? And by cheap I mean $100 or less lol!! Any recommendations you all have would be awesome!! Thanks so much!

Just look around on eBay to see if you can get one there that's cheap.

Be aware, though, that the method to root one device might not be the same to root another.

I would go with the easiest options: anything Nexus.

If you want a challenge, consider a Rezound. Heck, if you want to go S-OFF, you will need to try some wire trick, which I did not take the time to do & wish I had. S-ON is safer, but a lot more challenging when flashing ROMs. You'll get a workout.
