Unlock to last app used

On my iOS devices, when I unlock my screen it opens to the last app I had open. When I unlock my Nexus4 (version 4.2.2), it just launches to home screen. I have widget locker running as my lock, but there's no option within that to open to last app open, what's going on? And how can I get it to behave so that unlocking keeps me n the same place I left off?

It should do that by default, however some system intensive apps like games and the like will restart when you unlock your phone.

The reason being that some apps don't work well with wake locks. And putting the phone to sleep during the middle of a system intensive app interrupts the process and forces it to close. Because turning the phone off causes the processor to sleep.

In that case it should work every so often then, but it's never displayed that behaviour since I owned it. :/

I tried it on my RAZR Maxx and my Nexus 7, and both open to the previously opened app. Maybe it's a Widget Locker problem. What happens if you uninstall it?
